Part of the Moltivolti team travelled to Seville to meet Mad Africa, an anti-racist and ecosocial organization with whom we share visions, practices, and a shared drive toward a truly intercultural, just society free from inequality.
Within the framework of the Decostruct initiative, we shared tools, questions, and perspectives on anti-racist communication, critical social education, and transformative justice. Not as abstract concepts, but as everyday practices that challenge and reshape our work, our language, and our responsibilities.
We visited the Centro Vecinal Pumarejo, a historic space of resistance and community participation in the heart of Seville. For years, it has served as an important reference point for the local community, thanks in part to the daily commitment of Nora, who helps bring the space to life and keep it thriving.
Thank you to Melaza, an activist who challenged us to confront questions of racialization, privilege, responsibility, and reparations, opening up spaces that were uncomfortable but necessary.
We return with stronger alliances and a clear political program:
- A course on anti-racist communication and changing narratives, aimed at breaking down harmful stereotypes and creating new ones.
- A course on emancipatory intercultural competencies, focused on navigating migration contexts without reproducing the same hierarchies we claim to oppose, and on learning to engage with conflict without reproducing inequality.
- A festival on “decolonizing anti-racism,” because anti-racism itself must be questioned, deconstructed, and transformed.
Because anti-racism is not simply a word to use, but a practice to embody.
Collective. Uncomfortable. Necessary.
