An intense and deeply participatory journey involving 25 young people from different parts of the world: from Senegal and Gambia, through Mali, Tanzania, Chad, Tunisia, Egypt, and Bangladesh, and eventually to Italy. A mosaic of stories, languages, experiences, and perspectives that came together and intertwined in a shared space.
The workshop was a safe, diverse, and open space where participants could recognize themselves, listen to one another, and build connections. Through activities, discussions, and moments of sharing, participants explored the theme of anti-racism starting from their own experiences, developing new awareness and building new relationships.
In this space, differences were not an obstacle but a living resource: a shared wealth capable of opening our hearts and minds and creating new possibilities for living together.
We would like to thank Gambian Association and Giocherenda, our partners in this initiative, as well as ASF Tunisia, which, in addition to being the organization funding the project through the European DEAR programme, is a valuable ally in our anti-racist struggles!
This first workshop is only the beginning of a broader journey—one that continues to place people, relationships, and the value of diversity at its heart, recognizing diversity as a force capable of creating meaningful change.
